Free and open source

Teach your AI how you write.

Three free skills for the AI you already use. They take out the habits that make writing sound machine-made, and help it write about people clearly and respectfully.

Which AI do you use?

Pick yours and we’ll walk you through it. It takes about two minutes, and you don’t need to be technical.

The three skills

Start with one. Most teams use human voice plus one of the two standards.

Human-centered language

The plain language standard for AI.

Anyone who writes about people: associations, local government, health systems, businesses and nonprofits.

Trauma-informed language

For organizations whose readers may have lived through trauma.

Shelters, domestic violence programs, foster care, health care and anyone else whose readers may have lived through trauma. It includes everything in human-centered language.

Human voice

Takes out the habits that make writing sound machine-made.

Anyone whose readers have started to hear the AI in their writing.

What changes

The same request, with and without the human-centered skill.

Without the skill

We placed Maria in a job after she completed our program.

With the skill

Maria found a job after finishing the training.

Tested every month

Every month, the Human-Centered Language Benchmark runs the skills on 16 AI models, from Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, xAI and Meta to open-weight models like DeepSeek, GLM, Kimi, Nemotron and Gemma. We publish the results, methods and raw outputs.
